Issam Nabulsi

Principal / visionary / likes the quote "Everyone hears according to their own undertsanding" -Rumi

As the founding Director of Desypher, Issam heads our Dubai office and brings over 20 years of experience to the team. Having worked under Andrew Kings (Melbourne) and Rasem Badran (Amman, Jordan), Issam established the practice in 1993 and has since developed Desypher with a specific interest in projects that demonstrate community and cultural benefit.

In addition to being a father of five young ones Issam is currently undertaking his training in Estidama – a sustainability rating framework developed for the UAE context. If he’s not at his desk, he’s probably looking out for an untouched bit of wilderness in the UAE to go camping - no luck yet!

Khalid Bouden

Design Director / compulsive traveller / likes the quote "Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties" - Erich Fromm

Khalid is the Design Director of Desypher and heads the Melbourne office. He joined the practice in 2002 whilst completing architecture at Deakin University. After graduating with a Bachelor (Hons) in Architecture in 2005, Khalid worked in Dubai for one year before rejoining the practice in 2007. Armed with extensive exposure and experience obtained during his overseas ventures, he has been integral in developing the firm to its current position.

Khalid has completed the Permaculture Design Course in 2012 and has a passion for challenging traditional design. Khalid can usually be found backpacking the world, "no fixed address" definitely applies! He occasionally decides to visit the office to make sure it’s clean.

Ahmed Osman

Associate / mild mannered activist / likes the quote “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored” - Aldous Huxley

Joining the practice in 2011, Ahmed brings his planning and design background to the Desypher team. After starting out in Brisbane, Ahmed made a move to Melbourne in 2010 to further his career. It was during this time he teamed up with Desypher and has grown the company's capabilities to provide comprehensive planning and design services. Having worked across QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS and SA, Ahmed brings his Australia-wide experience to the Desypher team.

In addition to his qualifications in planning, Ahmed is also a qualified graphic designer and dabbles with contemporary Islamic art he has also completed the Permaculture Design Course in 2013 in Yemen. Ahmed volunteers in his spare time providing a much needed service for SeekersHub.
